Melody Denny
Melody Denny serves as the Director of the WORD Studio and Peer Tutoring. She regularly teaches PCA/EDUC 225: Peer Mentoring in Rhetoric and Communication. Occassionally, she teaches a class in AI and writing.
Peer Tutors
Alice
Alice (She/her) is a Neuroscience major and Chemistry minor who is passionate about supporting her peers as a tutor at SLU. Tutoring allows her to connect more with the student body and keep knowledge alive. Besides being a tutor, Alice is also an EMT with SLU EMS, an Arabic TA, and the Student Delegate to the Board of Trustees. She enjoys coffee, hugs, and the outdoors.
Barrow
Barrow is studying abroad in Spring 2026.
Barrow (she/they) is a sociology major and English + statistics minor with a special focus on humanitarian aid issues such as the prison-industrial complex and the criminalization of sexuality. Barrow loves reading and writing, playing drums, trail running (slowly), and finding weird bumper stickers. She is excited to connect with other students as a peer tutor, and work together to help make SLU more academically fair and equitable.
Brooke
Brooke (she/her) is a double major in Biology and Mathematics from South Salem, New York. In her free time, she enjoys working out, traveling, and spending time with her dog, Cooper. She is a member of the women’s soccer team, Chi Omega sorority, and serves as a Volunteer Services Manager at SLU. Brooke looks forward to building new connections with SLU students and helping them succeed in their academic goals.
Carly
Carly is studying abroad in Spring 2026.
Carly is a Chemistry major from Buffalo, New York. Go Bills! She is a member of the cross country and track and field team at St. Lawrence, and when not running or studying she likes to play card games, watch sitcoms and hang out with her dog, Samson. She enjoys helping students navigate through harder courses and hopes to help them succeed to the best of her ability.
Ella
Ella (she/her) is a Biomedical Science major, with a Psychology minor. She is apart of the Swim team as well as other organizations on campus like Planned Parenthood and Singing Sinners. In her free time she loves to go on walks, attend concerts and hang out with friends. After her time at SLU, she hopes to continue her education and become a Physician Assistant. She is excited to work with other students as a peer tutor to help others feel understood and succeed!
Ellie M.
Ellie (She/her) is a Finance and Math major. She is in her Sophomore year at SLU and beginning her second year as a peer tutor. Ellie is hoping to use her degree to work in Investment Banking and Finance. She is on the Women's Tennis Team at SLU. On top of tennis, Ellie loves going skiing, golfing, trying new foods, and traveling. She loved watching her peers grow through tutoring last year and is eager to help students enjoy the topics they're studying.

Ellie (she/her) is a Chemistry and Math Double major. She enjoys tutoring as it connects her to different parts of the SLU campus and gives her a reason to review foundational information. Outside of peer tutoring she is a Gen Chem peer pod TA and a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority at SLU. She enjoys reading, coffee, and going for runs.
Elvis
Elvis (he/him) is a Data Science Major and Political Science Minor who believes anything can be learnt with the right approach. He enjoys learning and nerding out on various topics especially those he's not familiar with. Outside class he is into thrifting and talking to people, and if he could do one thing everyday, it would be thrifting and talking to people.
Emily
Emily is a Biomedical Sciences Major and Psychology Minor on the pre-medical track from Northern NY. Outside of tutoring she enjoys going to the gym and going on walks. Emily is also a part of Chi Omega sorority and the president of ODK! She is also an EMT and works at the hospital in her hometown. Emily spent last spring semester in Denmark but is excited to be back on campus.
Emily P.
Emily is a Business and Psychology double major from Minnesota. She loves to ski, go on walks, and get coffee with friends. As a peer tutor, she hopes to help each student find ways to comprehend the material and feel confident in themselves. She is excited to work with fellow students!
Esther
Esther (She/her) is a senior majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Computer Science. She tutors because she loves to learn and to help others learn. In addition to the Peer Tutoring Program, she is a community assistant and works at the Language Resource Center. She enjoys reading, good spicy food and K-dramas.
Ethan
Ethan (he/him) is a senior English literature and Francophone studies double major. He enjoys reading, writing, exercise, and meeting new people. He has an immense interest in all disciplines, the pursuit of edification, and empathy which he believes can be ascertained from writing and reading. Through the medium of tuition, Ethan hopes to help students effectuate their goals in literature and elsewhere.
Gabby
Fascinated by the intersection of DMF and Sociology. I love learning about how the visual media we view every day (in various forms) impacts the way we act in society. Understanding this relationship also fuels my creativity and interest in web-design, film, and TV. Excited to connect with peers and hear about their own academic pursuits.
Hannah
Hannah (she/her) is a biochemistry major with a passion for nature. She finds beauty in all parts of our world and particularly loves animals, which led her to pursue biochemistry. As a tutor, Hannah hopes to find ways for other students to better enjoy their courses and their time in college. In her spare time, Hannah enjoys listening to music, going for walks outside, and chatting with her friends.

Ian (he/him) is a Neuroscience major and Chemistry minor. Outside of tutoring, he is a Community Assistant and works at the IT department. He is also a big soccer fan.
Kaylee
Kaylee (she/her) is a Geology major and Performance and Communication Arts minor graduating in the Spring of 2026. She loves walking in the woods with her dog and cozying up with tea and a book. On campus, Kaylee enjoys being a part of Women's Club Soccer, having long Dana sits with friends, and hitting the gym. She is excited to work with the Peer Tutoring Program as an Assistant Director to help facilitate peer learning and grow the program's reach at SLU.
Lauren B.
Lauren is a Biomedical Science and Psychology double major with a minor in Chemistry, and she is from Watertown, New York. She is highly involved on campus and enjoys staying active, spending time with friends, and engaging in leadership and service-oriented activities. She enjoys tutoring because she loves helping students break down complex material, build confidence in their academic abilities, and develop effective study strategies that support long-term success.

Lucia
Lucia (she/her) is a sophomore majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Outdoor Leadership. Outside of her studies, she enjoys being outdoors, taking long walks, surfing, hiking, and traveling. She is co-president of the Environmental Action Organization (EAO) and passionate about sustainability. Lucia hopes to be a valuable resource for students and aims to create a judgment-free, supportive, and encouraging environment so students can feel more confident with the material.
Madeleine
Madeleine (she/her) is an Economics and Political Science double major from Toronto, Canada. She is a member of the squash team and enjoys traveling, snowboarding, spending time with friends and participating in campus organizations. She is excited to support her peers and help them become more confident learners.
Paige
Paige is a Biology major with minors in chemistry and psychology. She is also a member of the cross country and track and field team. In her free time she enjoys traveling, baking, and spending time outside.
Sofia
Sofia is studying abroad in Spring 2026.
Sofia is a current junior from Rochester, NY with a Behavioral Neuroscience major and Spanish (Estudios Hispánicos) minor on the pre-medicine track. She is also a member of the field hockey team, an Athletes-4-Athletes Peer Mentor, a Morgan's Message Ambassador, and a member of the Pre-Health club. In her free time, Sofia loves spending time with friends, listening to music, traveling, and hanging with her dog, Louie! As a tutor, Sofia hopes to help students build good study habits and note-taking strategies to feel confident in their abilities and find a joy in learning!
Taylor
Taylor (she/her) is a junior Biomedical Science major on the pre-dental track. She’s involved in the Volunteer Services Club, Campus Kitchens, KDS, and also serves as an Orientation Leader for incoming first-year students. When she’s not studying or volunteering, she enjoys playing pickleball, taking long walks, sipping an iced latte, or laughing with friends. Taylor is passionate about helping fellow students tackle challenging material and believes studying shouldn’t feel overwhelming. She aims to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel confident and capable in their academic success.
Tim
Tim (he/him) is a double major in Statistics and Economics. As a tutor, he enjoys helping peers break down complex academic concepts and develop clear, well-structured arguments. Tim values collaborative learning and aims to create a supportive space where students feel confident asking questions and engaging with ideas. Outside of academics, he enjoys skiing, running, and other outdoor sports, especially activities that keep him active year-round.
Valeria
Valeria (she/her) is a Data Science major who finds joy in tutoring by helping others grow and meeting new people along the way. She’s passionate about making challenging concepts easier to understand and creating a welcoming environment for learning. Outside of academics, Valeria enjoys watching movies, meeting people, and discovering new foods.
Whitney
Whitney (she/her) is a Neuroscience major and tutors General Chemistry, Introduction to Psychology, and Research Methods in Psychology. Whitney enjoys helping students master challenging concepts and develop skills and study habits that will help them succeed in their classes. In her free time, Whitney enjoys reading, listening to music, and playing the piano. She is also a member of the Advocates and the Hill News editorial board. Whitney feel that she learn as much from the students that she tutors as they do from her.
