Your Academic Success Partner

Whether you're navigating your first semester or diving into advanced coursework, we're here to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be academically. The Peer Tutoring Program isn't just about getting help—it's about genuine conversations with fellow students who've walked the same path and know what it takes to succeed.

Real Students, Real Experience

Your peer tutors aren't just good at their subjects—they've actually taken the courses you're working on. They know your professors, they've tackled the same assignments, and they understand the specific expectations you're facing. When you're stuck on that Economics problem set or preparing for your Philosophy exam, you're working with someone who's been there and figured out how to thrive.

This isn't AI-generated advice or generic study tips. It's the insider knowledge that comes from recent success in your exact courses, shared by someone who genuinely wants to see you succeed.

Not Just for Struggling Students

Here's what we want you to know: peer tutoring isn't remedial support. Yes, we're absolutely here when you're struggling, but we're equally excited to work with students who want to push their understanding further. The best learners know that talking through concepts with a peer can unlock new insights and deeper comprehension.

Whether you're trying to grasp a challenging concept, aiming for that A, or simply want to approach your coursework with more confidence, peer tutoring meets you exactly where you are.

Your Bridge to Academic Success

College learning is different from high school, and that adjustment doesn't happen overnight. We serve as your bridge between student life and academic expectations—offering the perspective of someone who's navigated the transition successfully while maintaining the relatability that comes from being a fellow student.

Our tutors understand both sides: what it feels like to be confused by a professor's feedback and what that professor is actually looking for. We help you decode college-level expectations and develop the strategies that will serve you throughout your academic journey.

It's About Honest Conversation

Forget everything you think you know about tutoring. We don't lecture or judge—we have genuine conversations about learning. Because we're not grading your work, you can be completely honest about what you understand and what's confusing. This creates the kind of safe space where real learning happens.

Every session is collaborative. We'll explore concepts together, work through problems as partners, and help you build the confidence to tackle future challenges independently.

Want to Join Our Team?

Love helping others succeed? Consider becoming a peer tutor. We're looking for students who've excelled in their courses (3.25+ in courses you'd tutor for) and want to share that success with peers. It's flexible, rewarding work that builds valuable skills while making a real difference in your fellow students' academic success. See the Work Here page for more details.

How Tutoring Works

The Peer Tutoring Program operates through a personalized matching system rather than drop-in hours. Here's how simple it is:

Request a tutor through our online form, telling us about the course and topics you'd like support with. We'll connect you with a tutor within 48 hours on business days.

Get matched with a peer tutor who has excelled in your specific course and understands your professor's expectations.

Connect directly with your tutor via email to schedule your first session. You and your tutor will decide together when and where to meet—whether that's in the library, a residence hall study space, or anywhere else on campus that works for both of you.

Meet regularly for 60-minute individual sessions or join small group sessions (3-4 students) that can run up to 120 minutes.
