Melody Denny serves as the Director of the WORD Studio and Peer Tutoring. She regularly teaches PCA/EDUC 225: Peer Mentoring in Rhetoric and Communication. Occassionally, she teaches a class in AI and writing.
Melody has her master’s in English from Northeastern State University and her PhD in Composition and Rhetoric from Oklahoma State University. She has taught first-year writing classes for two decades as well as many other writing-related courses, including technical writing and environmental writing and rhetoric. Before coming to St. Lawrence, Melody worked as Writing Center Director at the University of Northern Colorado and Cottey College.
Melody’s area of research is Writing Center Studies, and she specializes in the analysis of talk between tutors and students.
