Current: The Journal of North Country Action
Current, The Journal of North Country Action was founded in 1985 as an outgrowth of local dissatisfaction with the bias, low quality and frequent irrelevance of press coverage on issues of critical importance to Residents of New York State’s North Country. Conceived under the umbrella of a progressive coalition group, Current has evolved into an independent, non-profit publishing cooperative dedicated to providing commercial-free, reader-supported regional news and commentary on a bi-monthly basis.

Doolittle Weeks Collection
The collection consists of correspondence between Lelon and Betsey from 1873 to 1881.

Douglas Black's Dwight D. Eisenhower Coll.
The collection contains personal and business-related correspondence consisting of over 200 typed and handwritten notes and letters covering the years 1947-1968. Many of the letters and notes acknowledge gifts of books given to the President by Mr. Black, while a few discuss political issues policy questions. Also included are correspondence to the Blacks from Eisenhower’s White House staff, contracts, inauguration programs and other Eisenhower ephemera.

Dumas Seaway Photograph Collection
This collection consists of approximately 2,500 color slides (1 linear foot).

Ed Sanders Collection
Edward (Ed) Sanders is an author, poet, musician and environmental activist associated with the late years of the “Beat” generation and the 1960s “counterculture” movement in New York City.
The collection contains several of Sanders’ books of prose, narrative poetry and collections of individual poems in book and pamphlet form. It also contains several magazines, journals, broadsheets and vinyl record albums.

Edmund Wilson/William Fenton Correspondence
This collection consists primarily of correspondence between Edmund Wilson and William Fenton during the years 1957-1972. The 59 letters are concerned primarily with New York State Indians, for Fenton, the Assistant Commissioner of the New York State Museum and Science Service, was an expert on Indians who helped Wilson with the research for his book APOLOGIES TO THE IROQUOIS. The two were friends, however, so personal information on both men also is found in the letters.

Edward H. Neary Papers
The collection contains (approximately 7000) documents written between 1874 and 1887. These include personal letters to and from Neary’s wife, sons and other relatives. The collection also includes his professional correspondence in his role with the Gouverneur Wesleyan Seminary, his work on behalf of Civil War Pension claimants, correspondence with clients in the local mining industry, and correspondence with many other local lawyers. A few photographs are stored at the end of the collection.

Emilie Clarkson Moore Lantern Slide Collection
The collection contains some 470 glass lantern slide images, most of which were taken by Emilie V. Clarkson (Moore) in the 1890s when she was an amateur photographer. Some of the lantern slides are images produced by other photographers. Also included are numerous medals awarded to Miss Clarkson at various domestic and international exhibitions she entered.

Essex County Collection
The collection contains a 1948 Guide to County and Town officials and a 1853 New York State Agricultural Society Magazine Vol. XII - supplement to the Report on the Survey of Essex County.

Ethiopian Manuscripts Collection
Collection of eight illuminated parchment scrolls and one illuminated parchment codex in Geez and Amharic, pertaining to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, from the late 19th or early 20th century. This collection was acquired in 1998.
