Why is the the US Dollar dominant, and will it remain so? Why are financial markets global? These a couple of questions students may ask as the world is in crisis. Study of the Global Financial Architecture (GFA) allows students to appreciate one of the most crucial global structures that influence everyday life on planet Earth. This course critically examines the system of institutions, rules, and practices that attempt to govern the international financial system in global terms. We study why the GFA is essential for global economic stability and sustainable growth and why international cooperation matters.
