Discover ecology, evolution, biological diversity and coservation biology using an investigative and problem-based approach. Students design, conduct, and present their own in-depth independent research project based on structured, skill-based lab exercises and scientific literature. One three-hour lab, a one-hour peer study session and three lectures each week. Acceptance into upper level biology courses (200+ level) requires a grade of 2.0 or higher in BIOL-101. Required for Biology, Bio-Chemistry, Biology-Physics, Biomedical Sciences, Conservation Biology, Environmental Studies-Biology, and Neuroscience majors. Fulfills NS-L Distribution. Fulfills EL requirement.
