Each year the Owen D. Young Library sponsors a contest for outstanding undergraduate research projects focusing on Northern New York, including the Adirondacks.  Awards may be presented for research in the arts, humanities, natural sciences, and/or social sciences.  To be considered for this prize, the student work must focus on topics, issues, or concerns having to do with Northern New York or with St. Lawrence University history, and must demonstrate that the author made use of archives, books, journals, research databases, or other resources associated with the Library.  Eligible projects include traditional research papers, online projects, fiction, poetry, or multimedia works.

The winners of the North Country Research Awards for 2025 are:

Natural Sciences
