The Owen D. Young Library got a dramatic makeover with new carpet and furniture as part of the university’s Facilities Enhancement Initiative.
Digital Scholarship
The newly expanded Digital Scholarship Studio brings a dynamic digital production studio and editing suite to the main floor of ODY. The new collaborative digital production space supports the creation of digitally intensive projects—podcasting, video, digital photography, and more—and provides instructional areas for engaging with new and emerging digital technologies.
1 Million Books and Counting
The library collection has reached a significant milestone, exceeding 1 million books—420,000 print books, and 590,000 eBooks.
Streaming Video
The libraries have added over 10,000 films to our streaming video collection on Kanopy, including many classic and international films.
Massage Chairs
There are now two massage chairs in ODY, just outside the Frost Ferguson Room, thanks to the Wellness Office.
2D Book Nook!
In the 2D Book Nook! artist Liza L. L. Paige transforms a three-dimensional corner of the Yellow Pipe Room into a two-dimensional illusion. Viewers are invited to become a part of the work by stepping into the drawing, and to bring a friend to snap pictures!
